Trying to different recipes this year:

Online (August Batches)

Makes: 4 pints

Pack in Jars:

  • dill
  • mustard seed
  • garlic clove
  • whole peppercorns
  • dried chilies (stems removed) for spicy

Brine:

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups white vinegar
  • 2 tbsp pickling salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions:

  • Bring brine to a boil
  • Pack jars with seasonings and then vegetables
  • Process 15 minutes

From Pickling Salt Box (Morton)

Makes: 4 quarts (8 pints)

Pack in Jars:

  • dill
  • mustard seed
  • garlic clove
  • dried chilies (stems removed) for spicy

Brine:

  • 2 1/4 cups water
  • 6 cups white vinegar
  • 3/4 cups pickling salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp mixed picking spice

Instructions:

  • Put pickling spices in tea bag or wrap in cheese cloth and mix with brine ingredients
  • Bring brine to boil
  • Pack jars with seasonings and then vegetables
  • Process 20 minutes
